Review

You can enjoy perfect vegan dishes here.

For lunch menu, you can choose from 3 to 4 types of vegan plates.
They are soy hamburg steak, soy nugget and soy cream croquette.

This time I visited this cafe at night time around 9 p.m.
It was about 10 minutes from Shiubya station.

I took elevator to 5th floor and went inside.
There were just about 5 customers inside.
The atmosphere was relaxing and I liked it.

I took a table seat.

Table of UMI CAFE

The stuff gave me menu and I decided to order set menu of soy croquette.
I thought the waiter soon come and I noticed I have no water.
In Japan water is free and served very first.

I thought here might be self-service place.
Anyway I waited waiter to come for 10 minutes but no reaction and I glanced at her and found that she was chatting with his stuff or friend.
I had to doubt my eyes, anyway I asked and ordered soy croquette plate.

And here it is!
Looks good!

Soy Croquette Plate of UMI CAFE

I like this Wooden plate, too.
The rice was mixed with millet.
And the taste was, yes, I like it.
Especially I like soy croquette, it was crispy outside and creamy inside.
Side dishes such as fried potato, zucchini, were also tasted good.

The waiter brought water during dinner.
Oh, this was not self-service but she forgot?
Is it possible to forget when there are just 5 customers in total inside?

I don’t want to criticize but I also need to be honest for my impression and say the service was the worst in my whole life.
It was my first time to see a service stuff chatting with others leaving the customer alone more than 10 or more minutes.
And just 5 customers inside but forget water?

Even at cheap chain restaurant, service stuffs can take good care of customers while handling much more customers.
I myself worked as a waiter at a cafe in Tokyo when I was a student but I always took care every customers, so chatting others during work and forgetting very first serve of water was beyond my imagination.

The cafe had a good relaxing atmosphere and dishes were good so I felt it is “Mottainai”.
Sorry Mottainai is Japanese but I can not find exact English word.
If I say, because of the quality of the service, all the good points are wiped off.

I hope they improve the service quality much more as a professionals.
Because I liked the atmosphere and dishes of UMI CAFE at least.
